THE Thomson Reuters PORTIA ROADMAP
Now, with the exciting release of v8.0 behind us, Thomson Reuters
is pleased to announce the next stage in the Thomson Reuters PORTIA product roadmap!
The
functionality and modules scheduled for releases over the next couple years were
based on quantitative and qualitative studies with our client base via surveys,
face to face meetings and the regular conversations we all have with clients on
a day-to-day basis. In addition to client inputs, we also have taken into consideration
everything we have learned in the market over the past couple years as we have
worked to sell Thomson Reuters PORTIA to new customers.

As
the investment world continues to become more complex it is extremely important
that Thomson Reuters PORTIA can support asset types that have been introduced into the marketplace.
The Complex Asset segment of v9.0 will focus on assets contained in the following:
Multi-Legged Transactions, Whole loan processing, Repo and collateral management
and Securities lending.
The complex asset enhancements will also allow
users to report on multi-part transactions as a single entity or component parts,
such as tracking hedged and un-hedged positions.

SWAP's, Hedged positions, Bank Loans, complex options, Repo/Reverse Repos and
Securities Lending.
Advanced Accounting in v9.0 will evolve Thomson Reuters PORTIA to provide
additional accounting capabilities including general ledger (G/L) and closed accounting
periods. These capabilities will position Thomson Reuters PORTIA as a full enterprise solution
that can support the accounting needs of multiple business lines. The G/L functionality
will include the ability to define a chart of accounts, a rules-based capability
for generating credits and debits and the ability to do standard G/L reporting.
Closed Accounting periods will allow users to fully lock down time series data
elements such as transactions, securities and prices to prevent unauthorized users
from backdating entries into closed time periods.
In addition to the G/L
and closed accounting period functionality which are needed by many types of firms,
Advanced Accounting will also add additional functionality necessary to support
other business lines such as insurance, hedge and the processing of partnerships.
