Thomson Reuters PORTIA Workspace Now Available

Thomson is pleased to announce the release of Thomson Reuters PORTIA v8.1! Over the past six months we have worked closely with Microsoft to develop an innovative approach to the Thomson Reuters PORTIA experience - the Thomson Reuters PORTIA Workspace. The workspace combines customizable navigation, workflow management and activity monitoring and management making Thomson Reuters PORTIA v8.1 truly a next generation version. In addition we have also delivered a number of additional functional enhancements that were driven directly by the customer's needs. Version 8.1 was a significant undertaking in terms of both the new technology introduced and pure scope of work involved.

The key elements of V8.1 include:

  • Thomson Reuters PORTIA Workspace: The workspace delivers an innovative approach to interacting with Thomson Reuters PORTIA: the user definable navigation, ability to develop both user and system workflows and the ability to chart and monitor the activities in the system - drive toward a more efficient and optimized experience that will change the game.

  • NAV, P&L and Gain/Loss: A new NAV Manager screen will be added to allow clients to calculate and store NAVs and related components from an unlimited number of sources each day. We have also expanded the standard Thomson Reuters PORTIA report library to include the following new reports:

    • Gain / Loss
      • Realized and Unrealized Gain
      • Wash Sales Report
      • Long Short Report
      • Continual Loss Position Report
      • Profit and Loss

    • NAV Reports
      • NAV Report
      • NAV Manager

  • Integration: Thomson Reuters PORTIA's integration capabilities have also been enhanced to provide our clients more options and easier ways to integrate Thomson Reuters PORTIA to other systems. These capabilities include a new Web Services Integration Layer, a Subscriber service that allows users to import into Thomson Reuters PORTIA using XML messaging, the ability to publish records using MSMQ plus Thomson Reuters PORTIA Services usability enhancements.
