The PORTIA Workspace celebrates its first birthday!
Over the past several months, many customers have begun using our new and improved
PORTIA Workspace platform after upgrading to the latest versions PORTIA, v8.1
and v9.0. The Workspace component debuted in March of 2007, and presents our
customers with a powerful new User Interface that significantly improves workflow,
provides automation of tasks and smoothes navigation. After a year in the market,
Workspace is a mature application. We have been continuously improving its capabilities
to ensure that its seamless functionality for all of our global customers. This
represents a considerable investment in the product which is a key component
of our technology platform strategy as we move forward.

- The PORTIA Workspace gives users a customizable palate for accessing PORTIA
functions. Rather than navigating through menus and layers of the classic
PORTIA screens, a user can instead create a direct path organized into task
zones creating the ability to customize their palate. This can be done on
a user by user basis and can be made part of a user profile and rolled out
to multiple users at a time. Users can title the menu based on their preferences,
including their native language, personalizing their navigation, tailored
to their own needs.
- Shortcuts can be created to desktop applications from Workspace, such as
email, Excel, and other third party tools, making Workspace an efficient navigational
solution for everyday tasks. Users can use these shortcuts as part of key
components of their workflows, grouping similar tasks into organized paths
to further improve navigation and personalization. As an added benefit, Workspace
keeps our users actively engaged with our product on their desktop, further
entrenching our place in their workflow.
- The Workspace graphical user interface is another innovative feature of
the product. Rather than presenting a boxed screen in grayscale with drop
menus, Workspace presents a sleek, user friendly, soft interface, with rounded
buttons and bright, vibrant color. This clean look is modern and offers our
users a "next generation" presentation of PORTIA. Users can reorganize the
on screen controls to present the information in a way most logical to them,
giving a level of personalization that cannot be matched in our industry.
As a reminder, Workspace is fully functional on both Windows XP and VISTA.
Our application also supports multi-lingual labeling in the interface, presenting
the on screen controls and titles in the language of choice for our customers
worldwide.
