ACCESS
(Application aCCess and Enhanced Security Solution)
The ACCESS module focuses
on 3 major categories Advanced Security, Advanced Import and Calculations API.
The Advanced Security functionality enhances the Thomson Reuters PORTIA "Login Process" to help
clients comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and ISO 17799 standards. Advanced Import's
main objective is to achieve high scalability and increased performance for importing
to the Historical Price (HPX), Historical FX Rate (HFX), Security Master (SMF),
Portfolio Master (PMF) and Transaction (MTF). Calculation API provides an interface
that enables users to programmatically execute Thomson Reuters PORTIA internal functions and calculations.
Users can request existing calculations to be run in defined contexts, returning
the results of the calculation without running a report from the Thomson Reuters PORTIA interface
tables. Learn more about ACCESS.
Maintenance
Thomson Reuters PORTIA
maintenance in v8.0 was driven exclusively by the priority needs and requirements
of our clients. Feedback gathered through the "Top Ten List" initiative enabled
us to focus on the quality items that were identified as being the most important.
A key focus on v8.0 maintenance was to enhance user processing efficiency. Thomson Reuters PORTIA
Reports and Calculation can now be "grouped" allowing end users an easy way to
locate reports and calculations they need. Reports now have date and operator
stamps to track the frequency of use and report output can be appended with "as
of dates". Enhancements have been made to allow batch parameters to be entered
directly into Thomson Reuters PORTIA, additionally allowing the use of symbolic dates +/-calendar
days in batch parameters. Learn
more about maintenance.
Thomson Reuters PORTIA would like to thank our early
adopters of v8.0 for their many efforts toward ensuring the delivery of a high
quality release. Not only did our early adopters help by reviewing specifications
and documentation, they also dedicated a great deal of their time testing Functional
Releases 1, 2 & 3 of the product. We're very grateful to the commitment of the
v8.0 early adopters and are confident that their efforts have enabled us to offer
the highest quality product to our client base. We are very excited about the
release of Thomson Reuters PORTIA v8.0, along with the many benefits that it provides to our clients.
